The month I switched from eBay to Mercari for clothing reselling
Honestly, I thought eBay was the only way to go for selling used clothes. But after 6 months of slow sales and constant fees, I gave Mercari a try back in April. The difference was night and day - my stuff moved in days instead of weeks. I think it's because the app is simpler and buyers don't have to deal with auctions. Has anyone else seen a big jump when switching platforms?

Wait, you actually had better luck on Mercari? I had the exact opposite experience when I tried to switch last year. The fees might look smaller on Mercari but they hit you with that 2.9% + 50 cent processing fee on top of the 10% selling fee, so you end up losing just as much or more on cheaper items. Plus the buyers on Mercari are way more flaky, like half my sales got cancelled because people either changed their mind or never paid. At least on eBay your listings stay active and you dont have to worry about someone claiming something was "not as described" just to get a refund. I also found that the search on Mercari is terrible, good luck getting your stuff seen by anyone who isnt already following you. eBay has been around forever for a reason, its still the best place for clothes if you price them right and use good photos.
