Finally realized I was overtightening panel covers for years
Was doing a service change at a house in Dayton last month and the old timer I was helping pointed out I was cranking every screw down like I was torquing lug nuts. He showed me a 15 year old panel where the cover was barely snug and had zero issues, how much torque do you guys actually put on those cover screws?

Totally been there man... stripped out a few cover screws myself before I learned to just snug em up and call it good.

The whole "just snug it up" thing applies to so much more than screws. Its like when people try to hand tighten something on a car and they crank it till the bolt snaps, lol. @grant.kevin once you learn that little trick it saves you a ton of headaches and broken parts down the road. I see guys at work do the same with pallet racking bolts, they just keep going until the threads are gone.
