TIL I was wrong about using a torque wrench on every single injector clamp bolt

We had the same thing with Cat 3406 valve bridges. The book says torque every bridge bolt, but an old hand showed me you just need to get the two main ones right and the rest are basically just locators. Saved a ton of time and never had one come loose.

My friend in Seattle said to watch 'Monster' in one go, so I did the whole 74 episodes in a weekend.

Ever try a rewatch but just for the big scenes? I did that after binging a different show and it helped me spot all the little stuff I missed the first time without the burnout. Lets you appreciate the slow build in a whole new way.

Got my drysuit zipper stuck solid on a job in Dutch Harbor last winter

I mean, graphite is basically just carbon and it's not great to put in your mouth. It can be gritty and might actually scratch the enamel if you rub it on your teeth. Maybe you're thinking of activated charcoal powder? That's a thing people try for whitening, but even that's pretty rough on your gums. Honestly, I'd just stick with regular toothpaste.

Found a good way to get old glue off book cloth without wrecking it

Vinegar can wreck old paper fibers.

TIL that mixing sunflowers with succulents isn't as odd as I thought

My friend tried this combo in a big pot on her balcony. The sunflowers shot up and looked amazing for about three weeks, totally shading the little succulents. Then the whole thing just went soggy and yellow when she tried to keep up with the watering. She had to pull the sunflowers out to save the cacti.
