I finally hit 10,000 terminated ends without a single do-over

Was wiring a panel in a new apartment building in Austin last week and counted up my connectors from the last few years. Has anyone else kept track of something dumb like that or am I just weird about it?

You know what counts as weird? I tracked how many zip ties I went through last year remodeling a single house. Came out to 847, which feels like way too many for a three bedroom. Something about seeing that number on paper makes me question my whole approach to tidying up wires.

Wait till you see my zip tie stash. I've got a bag with maybe 3000 of them in various sizes and I just keep adding to it, telling myself I'll use them someday. My husband found it the other day and asked if I was planning on zip tying the whole house to the foundation. Your 847 is honestly pretty reasonable for a full remodel, especially if you did any kind of wiring or plumbing work. The real problem is when you start using them for things that don't need them, like I did with my kitchen cabinet handles last week. Spoiler alert: they held just fine, but now I have to explain to guests why the cabinet doors don't look quite right.
