Vent: I used to fight with old armored cable, now I just cut it out

For years I'd spend an hour trying to salvage BX in a Reno, wrestling with that fiber wrap. After a job in Tacoma where a ground tail broke, I just cut it all and run new MC. What's your go-to for old cable that's being difficult?

I saw a post on a forum where a guy called it "time theft" to keep fighting with that old fiber wrap. He said the math never works out, because even if you save the cable, you lose an hour of labor. That stuck with me.
