Came across a vintage VCR repair manual while tidying up my workspace
It's packed with hand-drawn diagrams and detailed steps. Back in the day, this was how we learned, but nowadays I just look up videos or ask online. What's your take on old manuals versus digital help for training apprentices?

Stick with both, like ivan176's mustache doodles, then show them the video.

Remember my friend who sketched goofy animals on all his old work schematics? His new hires found a box of them in the storage room last year. They said those drawings actually helped them understand the flow better than the clean digital copies. It's like the doodles added context, made it stick in their heads. So maybe those mustache comics are more useful than we think.

Those hand drawn diagrams would just make me better at drawing funny mustaches on components. My own apprentices would probably find my old notes and laugh.
