Rolled my eyes when an old timer told me to fix a monitor with a heat gun, but after 3 tries it brought a dead backlight back to life

Thought it was total BS until I tried it on a Samsung 27 from 2012 that had been sitting in my garage for 6 months, and now I swear by it for stubborn LED strips, anyone else got a trick they doubted at first?

Held the heat gun about six inches away and moved it in circles for 30 seconds. @jackson.wesley nailed it on the LG job, these old displays just need a gentle reflow on the strip connectors. Make sure you tape off the screen before blasting it, or you'll melt the diffuser like I did my first time.

Heat gun trick is oddly legit for reflowing connections on dead backlights. Tried it on a busted LG a month ago and it fired right up. Still feels like witchcraft every time it works.
