That moment a peel-off mask went wrong on a client in Austin

I had this client in Austin, a regular who always wanted the dramatic peel-off masks. About six months ago, I put one on her that I'd used a dozen times before, but this batch must have been older or something. As I started peeling it near her jawline, it just ripped in tiny pieces instead of coming off clean. She started getting red and bumpy right there on the table. I stopped immediately, grabbed some cool water and a gentle cleanser, and spent twenty minutes calming her skin down with a basic aloe gel I keep in the fridge. She was understanding but I felt terrible, and I had to comp her whole service that day. Has anyone else run into a product that suddenly changed formula or quality on you mid-service?

Honestly that sounds like a bad batch issue with the supplier cutting corners.

So @finleybutler you think suppliers are just quietly swapping ingredients without telling anyone?
