Took me THREE HOURS to figure out a simple lash lift timing issue yesterday
I have been doing lash lifts for years but yesterday a client came in with super stubborn lashes that just would NOT hold the curl. I kept adding more time thinking it was my solution but turns out her lashes were just too clean and I had accidentally used a different prep pad that dried them out too much. Has anyone else run into this where prep products mess up the whole timing?

That bit about the prep pad drying them out too much is probably the REAL issue nobody wants to admit. I've noticed some of those alkaline prep pads are WAY too harsh for certain lash types, especially if your client has naturally fine or porous hair. I switched to a milder protein remover and my timing went back to normal across the board. Might be worth testing a different brand prep on your next stubborn set to see if it fixes the timing curve.

Absolutely - had the exact same nightmare last month with a client's lashes and a new prep pad.
