Appreciation post: My old brick walkway was a trip hazard for years until I finally replaced it.
I kept putting it off because I thought it would be a huge mess and cost a fortune. Last spring, I bit the bullet and paid about $3,200 to have a local crew pour a new concrete path with a simple broom finish. They tore out the old bricks in a day, graded the ground properly, and had the new walkway poured and cured within the week. It's completely level now and looks so much cleaner. Has anyone else switched from brick to concrete and been happy they did?

My neighbor's brick patio was a constant weed battle until they switched to stamped concrete. The pattern looks like stone but has zero gaps for plants to take root. They haven't touched a weed puller in two seasons.

Stamped concrete might look clean now but it cracks so easy in freeze-thaw cycles. @blaker75 your neighbor will be staring at a web of ugly lines in a few years, and that stuff is a nightmare to fix. Brick patios let you pull a few weeds but you can replace single bricks forever. Plus concrete just looks fake and cold compared to real brick or stone.
