The new porch light I installed in April just started flickering like crazy
I put it up myself, thinking it was an easy swap for the old one. It's a basic black outdoor fixture from the hardware store, nothing fancy. Now it blinks on and off every night, which is super annoying (and probably a sign something's wrong). Has anyone fixed a flickering outdoor light without having to rewire the whole thing?

My neighbor had this exact problem last year. Turns out the bulb wasn't screwed in all the way because the socket was a little stiff from being new. He just gave it a good, firm twist and the flickering stopped. Did you check if the bulb is seated tight?

That's a good first thing to check, but a loose bulb usually just dims or goes out. A crazy flicker like that sounds more like a bad connection in the wiring itself. Did you use those little plastic wire nuts that came with the light? Those things are junk and can come loose over time. You might have to take the fixture down and check all the wire connections are tight.
