My fabric swatch book from a trip to Milan shows a color trend most people miss
I've been collecting fabric samples for five years, and I keep seeing designers use the same bright reds and blues. In Milan, I found a shop with amazing olive greens and rust oranges that feel fresh. I think a lot of us stick to safe colors and miss these warmer, earthier tones that can make a design stand out. Has anyone else found a color palette recently that changed their usual choices?

Spotting those olive greens in Milan is a game changer. I started mixing them with pale clay pinks and it feels so much more alive than basic neutrals. Even a simple throw pillow in that rust orange can anchor a whole room. It's like we forget nature's color palette is right there, full of warmth and depth.

Milan's olive greens are great but they're actually more of a Tuscan thing. The local Milanese palette leans cooler with grays and slate blues.
