Honestly, I just realized I've been paying a $15 monthly fee for a budgeting app I haven't opened since January.

That "haven't opened since January" thing is the modern tax. We're all just leaking money to apps and services we forgot exist.

Just checked my bank statement and winced. My unused gym app is basically a charity donation at this point.

Modern tax" is a perfect way to put it. I used to see those charges as just the cost of being organized. Now I realize it's the cost of being forgetful, which feels a lot worse. Time for a subscription check.
