After weeks of complex tile work, the foreman gave our team a shoutout in the meeting!

That kind of recognition really boosts morale on long jobs!

Wait, it took weeks? For tile work? That seems insane to me. My uncle does that for a living and even the really fancy patterns in big bathrooms only take him a few days. Was it a massive space or something unbelievably detailed? I can see why a shoutout was needed after a grind that long, that sounds grueling.

Whoa, hold up. Tile work isn't just slapping down squares. If the floor isn't level, that's a whole day of prep right there. Intricate patterns like herringbone or mosaic borders take forever to cut and set right. Then you've got to let the mortar cure before grouting, and that adds days. For a big space with custom details, weeks is totally normal for a good job.

Yeah, the_grant is totally right about the prep and cure time. People forget about material delays too. If you need a specific tile shade or trim piece that's backordered, the whole project just stops. That's not even counting the days lost when the homeowner changes their mind about the layout halfway through. Seen that happen and it adds a full week of rework.
