Question about a weird floor I saw at the airport in Phoenix

I was walking through Terminal 4 and noticed a huge section of luxury vinyl plank that was totally silent underfoot, no clicks or pops at all even with a heavy crowd. The install looked perfect, with super tight seams and no visible transitions over a huge area. How do you guys get that kind of quiet, seamless result on a commercial job that big?

Honestly it's just vinyl plank, not a museum piece. Those big airport jobs use commercial grade stuff with attached padding, and they glue it down over perfect concrete. It's not magic, it's just a ton of prep work and expensive materials. You could get the same look at home if you spent crazy money and hired the best crew. People get way too impressed by basic good work.

I used to agree with wendysmith about it just being expensive materials until I saw a crew do a 20,000 square foot office job. They spent three days just grinding and leveling the concrete slab before any planks went down. The quiet comes from that perfect base, not just the product.
