Just realized I was making my own life harder with floral foam
For years, I would soak those big green bricks in a bucket, then cut them with a knife, making a huge mess. Last month, a wedding planner in Charlotte saw me doing it and said, 'Girl, why are you still wrestling with that?' She showed me the Oasis Floral Foam Cutter she uses. It's a little handheld tool that heats up and slices through the foam cleanly in seconds. I bought one the next day and it has saved me so much time and cleanup. Has anyone else switched to a tool that changed a basic task for you?

You saying "we just stick with the hard way" is so true. I read a blog post from a florist who talked about the "invisible work" in her field. She listed all the small, messy jobs like stripping thorns, cleaning buckets, and yes, hacking at wet foam. She wrote that finding the right tool for each of those tiny tasks was what finally made her business feel sustainable, not just the big, pretty designs. It really changed how I look at my own workflow.

Wait, you were cutting soaked floral foam with a regular knife? That sounds like a total nightmare (and kind of dangerous, honestly). I can't even imagine the wet, crumbly mess that must have made everywhere. It's wild how we just stick with the hard way of doing things for years without even questioning it. That wedding planner was a real lifesaver for pointing that out. I love when a simple tool completely changes a job you dread.
