My kid asked why we still use sand molds when his 3D printer can make anything
He said, 'It's just a different kind of printing, right?' and I realized he sees the craft in it, not just the old way. Anyone else's family ever point out something that made you see your own work differently?

Wait, he called sand casting "a different kind of printing"? That's actually a wild way for a kid to see it. I never would have made that connection myself.

Oh man, my nephew said the same thing last summer... @vera_roberts is right, it's a cool way to see it. I just told him both ways are fun, and sometimes getting your hands dirty is the whole point.
