DAE think talking clients out of bangs is a service we should provide more often?
A teen came in dead set on blunt bangs yesterday, but her face shape and hair texture screamed no. I gently suggested face-framing layers instead, and she left thrilled! I feel like steering folks away from bad cuts is just as important as giving them what they ask for. What's your approach?

Anthony's take misses the point a bit (it's not about stopping them, but guiding them toward what will actually look good).

Actually, I see it differently. Clients come in with a vision, and it's not our job to talk them out of it. Let them live with the choice, and they'll learn what works for them.

Heard a podcast once where a designer talked about this. They said letting clients make big mistakes is a cop-out. Your job is to use your experience to warn them. If they ignore you, fine, but you have to try. Otherwise, they blame you later when it goes wrong. Bad for business and just feels wrong.
