Remember reading about a guy whose smart lights turned on full blast during a power surge and fried. Makes you wonder if even basic automations are worth the risk when they fail in the worst ways.

What exactly broke in your routine? I used to automate everything possible until my own system decided to unlock the front door at 3 AM for no reason. That was the moment I realized some things are just better left manual. Now I keep the basic stuff like lights and thermostat on a schedule, but locks and security are all old school. Tech is great until it utterly fails you.
