How do you guys decide which welding helmet to buy?

I’m in the market for a new auto-darkening helmet and have narrowed it down to a few models, but I’m having a hard time deciding. Specs all start to look pretty similar once you get past the basics. For those of you who’ve bought a few helmets over the years, what usually makes you choose one over another? Do you rely mostly on manufacturer specs, user reviews, or detailed comparisons from people who have actually tested the helmets?

For me, optical clarity and how comfortable the headgear is after a full day matter more than most of the extra features. I also like seeing comparisons between helmets from different brands.

I usually check a few sources before buying. I recently came across Pro Welding Helmets, which tests and compares helmets from brands like 3M, Miller, Lincoln, and ESAB. Their guides cover more than just reviews too, including helmet settings, adjustment, cleaning, and maintenance.
