inOverheard a guy at the hardware store say his new jacket was 'tactical for grocery runs'
Honestly, that "tactical" comment used to sound silly, but now I totally get it.

inPSA: I see a lot of guys still using a 6-inch knife for the first coat on flat seams.
My foreman in Boise made me use a 14 inch knife on a big drywall job. It felt awkward for the first hour but the seams were way smoother. I haven't gone back to a small knife for that first coat since.

inShoutout to the old guy who showed me the real way to seam a loop pile
Honestly, did you ever try the hot melt tape and just end up with a fluffy, sad-looking line too?

inMy neighbor said my flyer looked like a ransom note
That ransom note comment is brutal but so true. What were the five fonts you thought worked together back then? I bet we've all made that same mistake before realizing less is more.

inI finally talked with a solar installer who convinced me the 200 amp panel upgrade isn't always the right call.
Makes total sense to me. I see this all the time where old rules of thumb get treated like gospel, even when the tech has changed. People just default to the bigger, more expensive option because it feels safer. It's like insisting you need a truck for a job a van could do better. That installer showing the real math is the key. It forces you to actually look at how you live, not just check a box. Good on him for pushing past the standard sales pitch.
