inWarning: I was killing my sourdough starter by feeding it straight from the fridge
My starter was a total dud for weeks until I read about using warm water. I started using water around 85 degrees from my kettle instead of straight from the tap. Ngl, it was like night and day, it just woke right up. Honestly, temperature is everything with these things.

inRant: I tried cleaning a dryer vent with a leaf blower and it backfired
Oh man, I totally disagree. That leaf blower move is a classic for a reason. Sure, you gotta be smarter about it. You don't just blast it from inside. You take the outside vent cover off first, seal a big trash bag around the vent pipe outside with duct tape, then let your buddy hit it from the laundry room. All the junk shoots right into the bag. Did it last fall and it was shockingly clean. A brush kit is fine, but sometimes you just gotta work with the big tools you already own.

inHot take: I chose a 4.5 inch taping knife over a 6 inch for a whole ceiling job last month
Is it really that big of a deal though? It's just a ceiling, not like you're doing surgery with the thing. People get too worked up over small stuff.

inHot take: Misjudged the hoof angle on a nervous pony
Rounding the toe helps a bit, but it's more about where the pressure ends. A truly rounded toe box just moves the stress point back a little. You need vertical height over the toes to stop them from hitting the end on a downhill. A lot of hiking boots get this wrong by making a low, rounded shape that still cramps your foot.
