That one client pipeline metric took me 4 weeks to get right
I was trying to track how many leads actually turned into calls from our cold email campaigns and manually log them in a spreadsheet. Turned out I missed a step in our CRM setup where forms weren't linking to the right contact stage, so all my data was off by like 40%. Has anyone else spent way too long fixing a simple automation error that should have taken a day?

Honestly, I think four weeks on that is kind of a blessing in disguise because it forced you to really understand every step in the pipeline. If you'd fixed it in a day you'd never have caught all the other hidden bugs downstream that probably popped up later. I spent three months fighting with our lead scoring system only to realize the whole thing was unnecessary and we could have just manually reviewed the top 50 deals each week and been fine. Sometimes the "wrong" data teaches you way more about what actually matters than the perfect metric ever would.

Three months on a lead scoring system that turned out to be pointless? Man, @felix478, that's brutal. I'd probably still be mad about that time even after seeing the lesson in it. Hard to stomach that much work just realizing you could've done it all on a notepad in a week.
