Threw $2k at Facebook ads in Austin with zero strategy
I heard everyone saying paid ads were the way to scale fast, so I just dumped money into a single campaign without testing anything first. No audience research, no creative variants, no landing page optimization. After 3 weeks I had 12 leads that were all junk and $1,800 gone. Has anyone else burned cash on ads before you actually knew what you were doing?

I mean, I did something similar when I first started but I only blew through about $600 before I realized I was in over my head. That 12 junk leads for $1,800 is brutal though, idk how you let it run that long without pausing it. The thing nobody tells you is that Facebook basically just burns your money if you dont feed it the right data upfront. I had to learn the hard way that running a small test campaign for like $50 just to see if people actually click is way smarter than going all in. Maybe it's just me but I think most people who say ads are easy have been doing it for years and forgot how confusing it is at first.

Small test runs saved my ass too, $50 is the sweet spot.
