Question about client reporting frequency after a 6 month contract
We took over a restaurant account in Chicago back in March and the previous agency was sending reports every single week. Client seemed fine with it but honestly it was eating up so much time for data that barely changed day to day. We switched to monthly reports with a quick Slack check in on the 15th. At the 90 day mark the client said they felt out of the loop even though nothing was actually broken. We gave them the numbers and they admitted the weekly stuff was mostly habit. My question is, is there a sweet spot for reporting cadence that keeps clients calm without making your team hate Mondays? I know some shops do bi weekly, some do quarterly deep dives. What has actually worked for people here long term without constant hand holding?
Ever tried just asking the client what they actually read? A buddy of mine ran a 10 min call every other week and cut his reports to one page, client never asked for more after that.
