Pro tip: Dont waste money on those AI voice cloning apps for customer calls

I spent $200 on a subscription to one of those AI voice cloning tools last month, thinking it would save time on my moving company's customer follow ups. Ngl, it sounded so robotic and fake that three clients actually asked if they were talking to a recording. Honestly, I should have just stuck with a simple text-to-speech tool or hired a real person for those calls. Anyone else tried these and had them flop hard?

Wait, three people actually called you out on it mid-conversation? That's brutal, I can't imagine having to explain to a client that yes, they are talking to a robot pretending to be human. My buddy runs a car dealership and tried one of those for his service reminders. First week, a guy calls back furious because the "employee" kept calling him the wrong name even after he corrected it three times. They pulled the plug on it the same day.
