That AI art detection tool everyone raves about flagged my own photo as generated

I ran a raw JPEG from my Canon from 2019 through it and got a 94% AI probability, which tells me these detectors are just guessing based on noise patterns not actual content.

So does that mean I should start doubting my own eyes now? I ran a picture of my truck through one of those things and it said I was probably a robot taking pictures of fake clouds. Makes me wonder if these detectors are just overthinking digital dust.

Ugh tell me about it! It's honestly ridiculous when a real photo gets flagged that high. Like these things clearly have no clue what they're doing half the time.

@joseph_lewis92 right on the money with that digital dust comment. These detectors basically get trained on pixel patterns and lighting quirks, not what a scene actually looks like. It's like teaching someone to spot a liar by only looking at shoelaces, then being surprised when they miss everything else.
