Tried frozen vs fresh brussels sprouts in the air fryer and wow

I did a little experiment last weekend with brussels sprouts because I had a bag of frozen ones sitting in the freezer and a fresh bunch from the farmers market. I seasoned both the same way with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then cooked them at 375 for about 12 minutes. The frozen ones came out super soft and a little watery, kind of like steamed sprouts with some crispy edges. But the fresh ones? Those got perfectly caramelized on the outside with a nice crunch and the centers stayed tender but not mushy. I think the extra moisture in the frozen ones just steams them instead of letting them crisp up. Has anyone else tried cooking frozen veggies in their air fryer with better results using a different temp or time?

Haha nah I'm gonna push back on this one. I've actually had better luck with frozen brussels sprouts in the air fryer because I thaw them first and pat them bone dry, then crank the temp to 400 and give them a solid 15-18 minutes. They come out way crispier than fresh ones for me, probably cause the freezing process breaks down the cell walls and lets them get that extra crunch without the raw center issue.

Man I feel you on this one. I tried frozen broccoli in my air fryer last week and it came out like sad little sponges that just steamed themselves into oblivion. I was so hyped too cause I had this whole plan for a quick side dish after work. Your fresh sprouts sound way better honestly, that caramelized outside is what I'm chasing every time. I might just stick with fresh from now on even if it means a little more prep time.
