Had to pick between a full engine teardown or just swapping the fuel control unit on a King Air 200 last Thursday. Went with the FCU swap first and it fixed the rough idle right away.

Starting with the FCU makes sense for a quick fix, but a rough idle can point to deeper engine wear. In my experience, that symptom often comes back if you don't address the root cause. It might be worth planning for that teardown sooner rather than later.
