Showerthought: I thought those new composite-specific torque wrenches were just a gimmick
A guy at the hangar in Phoenix let me use his on a Honeywell APU access panel, and the difference in feel was actually noticeable. Anyone else made the switch for composite work?

Totally not a gimmick. The click is way more crisp on composite fasteners, which matters for not over-torquing. Makes you wonder why they took so long to make them.

That crisp click is just marketing talk. A good metal fastener has a clear break point too, been working fine for decades. Maybe they made composites because they're cheaper to produce, not better. Feels like solving a problem that never really existed.
