Fell for the hype and bought the $200 leather cover set
Got sucked into those Instagram ads for handmade leather notebooks. Spent $200 on a set with a cover and refills. The leather smells great but the paper bleeds through with any fountain pen. Super disappointed. Anybody else get burned by fancy stationery that doesn't actually work?

Yeah gavin_mason31 is right, once the bleedthrough shows up it's like the whole notebook is ruined. I had a similar thing with these Japanese notebooks I ordered online. Paid a lot for the brand name and the paper felt smooth but my fountain pen turned every page into a mess of ink spots and ghosting. Now I just grab whatever's on sale at the drugstore and test it with a pen first.

Fancier paper used to matter to me but bad bleedthrough kills the whole experience.
