In my anime group, we're split on filler episodes. Half say skip them, half say they add to the story. What's your view?

Skip the boring ones, watch the good ones. Some fillers actually make you care about side characters more. Just check online to see which ones are worth it.

Have you ever gotten through a filler episode and felt like it added something real to the show? I mean, sometimes they throw in backstory for a side character that you never thought about, and it actually makes the main story hit harder later on. But honestly, if the filler is just boring fights or recap stuff, skipping it won't ruin anything for you.

When I first watched Bleach, I skipped every filler arc to get to the main story faster... I thought they were just time-wasters with no real point. But then I caught the Bount arc on TV one day and it actually gave some depth to Uryu's character... Seeing his struggle outside the main plot made his actions later feel more meaningful. Some fillers are still pointless, like those recap episodes, but others can surprise you. Now I don't automatically skip fillers, I check if they focus on character stuff.
