Warning: watching dubbed vs subbed One Piece changed my whole viewing pace

I spent 3 weeks watching the dubbed version of One Piece on Netflix, and I was only at episode 45. Switched to the subbed version with faster releases, and in the same time I got through 120 episodes. The voice actors in Japanese just had more energy for me, especially around the Arlong Park arc. Has anyone else found a huge speed difference between the two formats, or is it just me getting hooked on the subs?

Huh, you sure about that release schedule? I thought the dubbed episodes actually came out faster on streaming since they drop bigger batches, while subs usually just get one a week.

With Crunchyroll’s simuldub schedule they usually drop like 3-4 episodes at once for new shows... then it settles into a weekly thing after that first big batch. The subs are always just one a week from the start though, so you’re actually getting more content faster with the dub in those first few weeks before it evens out.

Lmao wait I think you might have mixed up the batch sizes a bit. Crunchyroll's simuldub usually drops like 2-3 episodes at the start for new shows, not 3-4, and after that it's weekly just like the subs. So the sub actually stays ahead if you're catching up from the beginning.
