Am I the only one who thinks a loud compressor is a dying compressor?
Had a fridge call in Aurora where the guy swore the compressor was fine because it was running, but it was pulling 11 amps and rattling like a can of bolts. Saw that same thing on two other units this month, and all three needed a new compressor instead of the relay the homeowners suspected. Anyone else notice people mistake noise for normal operation?
Watched a buddy chase the same ghost on a walk in cooler, swore the noise was just how that old Copeland sounded. Ran it another week until it locked up and took the start winding with it. Turns out the rattle was the valves already gone.
