Fixed a fridge in a basement that had me stumped for two days

Got a call for a fridge in a basement in Akron that kept tripping its breaker. The homeowner had already replaced the outlet, so I was sure it was the unit. Checked the compressor, the fan, everything. Finally, I pulled the whole thing out and found a mouse nest had built up against the condenser coils, causing a slow short. Cleaned it out, put it back, and it's been running fine for a week now. Anyone else ever find a problem in the last place you'd think to look?

My old car had a weird electrical drain that three shops couldn't find. The fix was a single frayed wire under the back seat cushion. It's crazy how often the real issue is hiding in some dumb, overlooked spot.

My car's check engine light is basically a permanent fixture at this point. I've just accepted it as a moody interior decoration.
