Choosing between a new climbing rope and a better saw changed my work
I had to pick between buying a new 150 foot climbing rope or a top handle saw with a 12 inch bar. I went with the rope because my old one was frayed near the anchor point. It felt safer on a big oak removal in Charlotte last month. What's a better choice for your money, safety gear or a faster cutting tool?

Good call on the rope. A frayed line is the kind of thing you can't unsee once you've spotted it, and it just sits in the back of your mind all day. The saw would have been nice, but it doesn't matter how fast you cut if you're not getting back down. Money spent on solid gear that keeps you off the ground is never a waste.
