Watched a storm take down a big pine in Charlotte last month

The way it split showed me exactly where the weak spot was from an old lightning strike. Now I check for those hidden cracks on every big tree I climb. Anyone else find storm damage that changed their inspection routine?

Crazy how nature points out the flaws. Makes you look at every climb differently now.

Yeah, it's more like it shows where the rock is actually weak... not really a flaw in the rock itself. Changes the whole game for sure.
