My old trowel handle snapped right in the middle of a dig last month

I was working on a site near Tucson, carefully scraping back a layer when it just gave way. It was my grandad's Marshalltown from the 70s, so I felt pretty bad about it. I had to finish the day using a backup, which just didn't feel the same. Has anyone else had a favorite tool fail on them like that, and did you try to fix it or just replace it?

My buddy's trowel got stolen once and @tyler506 he was weirdly sad about it.
