Still swear by pulling dents with stud welders instead of glue pulling

I know everyone at the shop has gone crazy for the glue pulling method the last couple years, but I still think a good stud welder gives you way more control on quarter panels. Had a 2018 Civic about 6 months ago where the glue pull left a tiny wave on the edge that took me 45 extra minutes to smooth out. Am I the only one who thinks the old way is still better for certain panels?

Was that Civic hard along the body line where the wave showed up? I find glue pulling gets sketchy around any sharp character lines or peak edges because the adhesive spreads uneven under tension. Did you end up using the stud welder to rework that spot or just hammer and dolly the wave out?

Used to swear by glue pulling for everything, but that Civic changed my mind completely. The way the adhesive grabs on a sharp body line is just unpredictable, it pulls uneven and leaves a mess every time. Ended up going with the stud welder for that spot and honestly it came out cleaner than I expected. Still use glue for big flat panels but anything with a character line or peak edge gets the welder now, learned that lesson the hard way on that job.
