Hot take: impact guns for lug nuts are fine but using one on oil drain plugs is asking for trouble

I stripped a drain plug on a 2015 F-150 last week because I thought more torque was faster, then a older tech showed me how hand-tightening with a torque wrench to 30 ft-lbs never leaks. Am I wrong for thinking impacts are overkill on anything that isn't suspension or wheels?

I read on a truck forum that a guy snapped his pan clean off with a 1/2 inch impact.

Hand-tightening with a torque wrench to 30 ft-lbs" - that's terrifyingly precise for a drain plug but you're not wrong lmao
