Heads up about the water crossing on the Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas

I was out there a couple weeks back and the Little Missouri River crossing near the Winding Stairs area was way higher than expected. My group saw it was about knee-deep on a tall guy, which meant it was almost waist-deep for some of us. The current was strong enough that a few people nearly lost their footing. We ended up having to link arms to get across safely, which added a good 45 minutes to our day. If you're planning this loop soon, maybe check recent trail reports or be ready to find a different spot to cross. Has anyone else run into surprise high water on this trail recently?

Knee-deep on a tall guy" sounds like a real adventure.

Linking arms for 45 minutes seems like overkill. I've done that crossing a bunch of times and yeah, it can be high, but calling it a serious danger feels like a stretch. Tara345 called it an adventure, which is more like it. It's a river crossing on a hiking trail, not a whitewater rafting trip. If you're that worried, just wait an hour or scout upstream for a wider, shallower spot. People make it sound way worse than it is.

Noahw53 gets it, it's just a wet rock walk.
