Saw a parking lot sign that made zero sense yesterday

I was at a grocery store in Tucson and spotted a sign that said 'customer parking only' but the arrows pointed into a dirt lot behind a dumpster. Turns out there were 12 spaces painted on the asphalt but the sign was bolted to a fence facing the wrong direction. Does anyone else run into signs that seem designed to confuse people on purpose?

That sign sounds like it was designed by someone who failed basic geometry. I once saw a "no left turn" sign that was literally placed right next to the turn lane, so you'd be halfway through the turn before you even read it.

Honestly, I gotta push back on that. In my town, they actually moved that exact sign to a spot where you can see it about 300 feet before the turn, and guess what? People still blow past it and then get mad. I don't think bad sign placement is the root problem. It's more like drivers just don't scan the whole road anymore, they only look for the lane itself.
