That "ergonomic" mug handle was an absolute joke on Sunday morning

Ngl, I picked up this ceramic mug at a thrift store in Seattle last weekend because the handle looked all curved and fancy. Figured it would be great for gripping with my clumsy morning hands. Took one sip of coffee and the whole thing slid right out of my hand and shattered on the tile floor. The handle was shaped in a way that forced my fingers into a pinch instead of an actual hold. Who designed this thing, someone who never actually holds a mug? Has anyone else run into a product that looked useful but was actually dangerous to use?
