My moisture meter lied about a slab in a Phoenix condo last month

Oh man, that's brutal! My meter's gotten me before too. I guess those plastic sheets don't lie, even if they are a pain.

Been ramming sand by hand for 15 years, then a temp from the Toledo plant showed me his trick.

That line about relying on old habits instead of simple tools really hit me. I used to fight with a stuck floor jack for years, getting mad and kicking it. Then a guy at a gas station saw me and told me to just tap the release valve with a hammer handle instead of pushing the lever. One light tap and it drops right down. It's crazy how you can do something the hard way forever just because no one shows you the easy way.

I finally stopped correcting people who call all comics 'graphic novels'

Definitely, it adds a layer of seriousness that was missing before. When a show like The Last of Us gets mainstream awards, it forces critics to take the genre seriously. That validation pushes creators to aim higher with their stories.

Update: My evening email ban is saving my sanity

Man, I am SO with you on this. I used to check my work email right before bed and it was really bad for my sleep. My brain would start solving problems instead of winding down. Now my phone goes on Do Not Disturb at 7 PM. It felt weird at first, like I was slacking, but it's a simple thing that changed everything. The work will still be there in the morning, but my patience for it is way higher if I'm not always on call.
