The 3AM logo tweak I spotted at a gas station in Ohio

So I stopped for gas off I-75 near Dayton and saw this diner logo that had two different fonts stacked on top of each other, plus a drop shadow fighting a gradient. It looked like someone let their nephew mess with Canva for 10 minutes. But here's the thing, the place was packed and had been since 1962, so maybe the ugly logo actually built trust? I told my buddy who does branding and he said logos are just the tip, the real value is consistency over time. Now I'm torn, do we overthink our own logo fixes when a janky one can still work if the food or service is solid? Has anyone else seen a truly bad logo that somehow got loyal customers anyway, and did you copy any of its tricks or run the other way?
