Vent: I've saved 43 bad gas station logos on my phone and my wife says it's a problem
It started as a joke back in March when I pulled into a Sunoco off Route 9 in Jersey and saw a logo with the sun peeking out from behind a cloud that looked like a moldy pancake. I snapped a pic and sent it to my buddy. Then I started noticing them everywhere, the wavy swoosh that means nothing, the swoosh made of grease, the eagle that looks more like a pigeon that got into the fryer. I checked my camera roll earlier and I've got 43 of them now, all saved in a folder called "gas crimes." Half these places are one bad kerning job away from looking like a funeral home. Anybody else keep a shame folder like this, or am I just broken?
Ever try giving them a theme so it feels less like hoarding? I did the same thing with motel signs on road trips and once I sorted them by type (arrow, neon, cartoon animal) it turned into an actual collection instead of a junk drawer. My wife eased up once I could show her the categories. Now we stop at bad ones on purpose and she picks the worst one of the trip.
