Finally got my city's parking app to stop double charging me

I kept seeing two $4 charges for a single 2-hour session in Seattle, and it turns out the app's 'extend time' button doesn't clear the old session first. You have to manually end the first one, then start a new one, which is never explained. Has anyone else found a better parking app that doesn't have this hidden step?

I once paid for eight hours of parking in Portland because I couldn't find the "end session" button. My car wasn't even there anymore, I was just funding a meter for a stranger. These apps are designed to be confusing on purpose.

Check your receipt email for a link to end the session early.
