That fancy $80 ergonomic mouse gave me wrist pain worse than the cheap one

I swapped to a vertical mouse six weeks ago because everyone swore it would fix my carpal tunnel, but my wrist actually started hurting more after using it. Turns out the grip angle forced my hand into a weird position that strained different muscles. Has anyone else had a supposed solution backfire on them like this?

grip angle forced my hand into a weird position" - that's exactly what happened to me with a trackball mouse. I spent $90 on this fancy Logitech thing after reading all the hype and my thumb started cramping up after like twenty minutes. Actually had to stop using it because the constant strain made my whole forearm ache. I guess my hand just wasn't built for whatever ergonomic design they were going for. Now I'm back to my basic $15 office mouse and feeling kind of dumb about the whole thing.

At least your $15 mouse doesn't come with hand-cramping as a bonus feature.

You ever notice how stuff that's supposed to be "ergonomic" just feels like it was designed for someone with totally different hands? Like, I've gone through three different "comfort" kitchen knives that just made my grip feel wrong, and a buddy of mine @grant569 swears by those vertical mouses but they gave me the same cramping you're talking about. It's funny how we're supposed to pay extra for all this fancy gear that's supposed to help us, but half the time the cheap basic stuff works better because it's simpler and not trying to reinvent how your hand sits. Feels like companies just slap "ergonomic" on anything with a weird shape and call it a day.
