Finally stopped using a fresh blade on every client after a mentor called me out on it.

Watched an older barber in Nashville zip through 10 haircuts with one blade and the results looked cleaner than mine, so now I just strop and disinfect between uses instead of tossing blades after every single head.

Wait, you were really swapping blades after every single head? That must have cost a fortune. I used to swear by fresh blades too, honestly. Thought anything else was just lazy or gross. But then I watched a buddy get through a busy Saturday with one blade and yeah, his work still looked spotless. It changed my mind completely. Now I just keep it clean and sharp between clients, and it saves me a ton of money.

Honestly, it's funny how we get locked into these expensive habits until we see someone else doing it differently and getting the same results. It reminds me of how people buy brand-name dish soap or overpay for fancy coffee filters when the generic stuff works just fine. We just assume the pricier way must be better until reality hits us in the wallet.
