Trying a new styling tip session after cuts and loving the results
I've been trying something new at my station that's really paying off. A while back, I decided to stop just finishing a cut and sending people on their way. Now, I always spend a couple minutes going over styling tips with each client. I use a small amount of product from my tray to show them how to work it through their hair. It's not just about the cut, it's about making sure they can keep it looking sharp. Since I started this, I've noticed more people coming back and leaving happier reviews. Last week, a regular said his wife complimented his hair for the first time in years. Taking that extra time has turned good haircuts into great experiences.

Love that you do this. I've left so many haircuts looking perfect in the chair, only to have no clue how to make it look that way at home. That extra minute of showing someone the actual motion with product makes all the difference. It turns a service into a real lesson. Most barbers or stylists just don't take the time, and it really sets you apart. Good on you for caring about the whole result, not just the cut itself.

Honestly, when you say "that extra minute makes all the difference," I see it differently. Tbh, not every client actually wants a styling lesson after a cut. Some people are fine with just the haircut and will manage their own look at home. Also, barbers are often really busy and adding extra time for every person isn't always possible. Ngl, when stylists do try to show me, it can feel rushed and not that helpful. I believe a good haircut should stand on its own without needing a ton of product or special tricks.
